Well it has been quite a while since I actually posted anything on this side so I thought that I would give a little update. Mason turns 1 on November 4th. He is currently 23lbs 12ozs and has a very healthy appetite. Don’t dare give him that baby food crap. He will spit it out. He wants the real deal. He is very vocal. His sister makes him laugh all the time. If something doesn’t go his way he gets really pissed off. His new thing is to stick his hand into people’s mouths. That also gets him laughing. He is getting over a sinus infection but other than that he is doing well. He would rather crawl than walk. When I try to get him to walk, all he wants to do is bounce.

Haley started school in September. She hates to get up in the morning but she really likes school once she is there. They had their first field trip a couple of weeks ago. They got to go to Krispy Kreme. Who wouldn’t love that trip. She has her school pictures done on 10/24/06. She is back in ballet and now aspires to be a professional ballerina. She is totally full of herself and has an attitude to boot. Poor me.

I have been really bad about updating the kids blog lately. Haley starts kindergarten in less than two weeks. It was just yesterday that she was such a sweet little baby. Mason just had his 9 month checkup. He weighed a whopping 20lbs 11ozs and measured 30.75 inches long. He is in the greater than 95th percentile for his height. Just like his big sister. Haley has her 5 year checkup tomorrow. Mason now has 4 teeth and has pretty much weaned himself off of the breast. Thank god that he did it himself. They are both growing like weeds and changing every day. Haley looks like her daddy but totally has my personality and Mason looks like me but has his daddy’s personality. Funny how that works. I am taking the week off next week since Haley is getting ready to start school. I want to get some time together to do whatever we want before the restrictions of a school day. She is so excited. We will see how long that lasts.

Haley and Layla had a lot of fun at the zoo. Here are the pictures to prove it.

To my darling daughter Haley,
This day in January was a really good day. You are about to turn five years old. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone and how grown up you have become. I miss that sweet baby girl I once had but I am proud of the young lady you are becoming. You will start school in the fall and that milestone makes mommy sad. You are ready for it. Before you know it you will be graduating. While I don’t want you to grow up too fast I do look forward to seeing the woman that you will become. I love you daughter. You are forever my number 1 girl!
Love,
Mommy

Mason recently discovered that he has a tongue. Ever since then, it has been hanging from his mouth. God I hope that it is not what the child’s IQ will be like.

On Wednesday the guys from JD Baker and Sons came and dug our new driveway. Daniel and I were talking to one of the guys about a ride on toy that Haley had. He told us that his son loved it. Haley told him that she didn’t like it and that he could take it home to his son. Meanwhile a little boy from down the street ( 7 years old, by the way ) had come over to play with Haley. She was pushing him around on the toy when i told her it was time to let Mr. Baker take it home. She looked at Donovan and in a really mean tone told him ” Get off. ” I told her that she wasn’t very nice to him and that she should apologize. Donovan quickly said that ” It’s ok, Haley can talk to me however she wants.” I didn’t really think anything of it until his mom’s best friend ( another neighbor ) told me that Donovan has a huge crush on Haley. I told Haley of his love for her and of course she says ” mom, we are just friends.” I am in trouble. The older ones are after her already.

The other day I had to race to the in laws to bring Mason another bottle of boob juice. When I was about to leave:
Haley: ” Mommy, I love you from the bottom of the sea to the top of the world”
Mommy: ” Well I love you around the world 50 times”
Haley: ” I love you around the world 100 times”
Mommy: ” I love you 100 million times”
Haley: (With that totally confused look of, what could be more than that?) “I love you more than that mommy.”

Haley’s dance recital went great. Misty and I pumped Kaiden and Haley up into a friendly competition. We told the girls that they couldn’t sing louder than each other. I believe that it worked. I could actually hear them singing all the way up in the balcony. Haley wants to dance at the Harrison Opera House every day now.
